Benefits of Participating in the State of Vermont Internship Program

 

  • As one of the largest employers in Vermont, the State has the capacity to offer a number of opportunities in a variety of fields
     
  • The application process will be managed by the Coordinator of the Internship Program
     
  • An orientation will be provided for new interns
     
  • Internships are project-based and include a learning component
     
  • Interns receive individualized support throughout the internship period
     
  • Interns are exposed to the benefits of living and working in Vermont 

 

 
Eligibility

 

Participants must meet the following criteria:Female intern with microscope

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Enrolled at an institute of higher education; OR
  • A recent college graduate; OR
  • Working with Voc Rehab Vermont; OR
  • Working with Vermont Adult Learning

Note: Priority will be given to applicants who are Vermont residents or are attending or have attended an institute of higher education in the State of Vermont.

Step 1

Step 2
Complete the Internship Application Form that is located in the Forms and Documents section of this page.

Step 3
Send completed Internship Application Form, resume, and cover letter to SOV-Internships@state.vt.us.

*** Please provide a cover letter for each position for which you are applying.  Cover Letters should be addressed to the agency that posted the position.

What's Next? 

  • The Coordinator will contact you to confirm receipt of your application materials.
  • Your application materials will then be forwarded to the appropriate agency/ies.
  • If the position is available, the agency will contact you directly to arrange a meeting.
  • If the position is no longer available, the Coordinator will assist you in locating a different opportunity within state government.
