Information For State Employees

NEW SYSTEM GOES LIVE 10/9/2018.

Here 4 easy steps you need to follow to be ready:

  1. Retrieve any information you may need from the current system by 10/8/18 (Resume or Applicant profile.) THEY WILL NOT BE ACCESSIBLE AFTER THAT DATE

  2. On 10/9/18 you will no longer be using the current VTHR Career Site (PeopleSoft) to search and apply for jobs; any job applications you have pending will proceed as normal.

  3. On 10/9/18, you will be able to access SuccessFactors, the new system, a couple different ways:

    • Go to Job Seekers Page - The right-hand column will say 'For State Employees' with 2 link options (click 'first-time login')

    • On the DHR Home Page, there will be a block adjacent to the VTHR Login Logo in the right-hand column with the SuccessFactors logo (click 'first-time login'.)

    • NOTE: The New SuccessFactorsFactors system is for searching and applying for positions at the state ONLY. All other functions you currently do in VTHR (timesheets, etc.) will remain the same.

    • In all cases you MUST click the 'first-time Login' link the first time you access the system - it will guide you through getting started

  4. We do want to encourage state employees to think about updating their resumes. If you don’t have a resume, creating one now will help you with the transition if you anticipate applying for new state job opportunities in the future. A resume that concisely details your work history, education and special skill sets will give you the best chance when applying for jobs. Having a resume that you can upload to SuccessFactors, will shorten the application process, too. For tips on resume writing, please go to our resume writing page on the DHR Website.

General Information on new System for State Employees:

  • Moving forward, you will notice that we refer to the system as SuccessFactors Recruiting, which is the name of the actual software solution. You may also see it referred to as “SuccessFactors”, “SF Recruiting” or “SFR”.
  • Our new “internal” careers site (just for state employees) will be much more user-friendly. You will be able to apply from anywhere you have a computer or mobile device (yes, mobile device!) and internet connectivity.
