Annual Leave
Paid Annual leave is provided to employees in classified service. Employees will accrue annual leave on a bi-weekly basis and are eligible to use annual leave after the first six (6) months of employment. Your eligibility to accrue annual leave and the rate at which you accrue is based on your position and bargaining unit. Employees off payroll for 20 hours or more will not accrue annual leave for that pay period.
NOTE: Probation is considered completed after completion of the pay period in which the probation date falls. Therefore, the initial award of annual leave hours will occur AFTER submission of the timesheet for the pay period containing the probation date, and the hours will be available for coding in the subsequent pay period.
Sick Leave
Paid Sick leave is provided for absence related to personal illness, family illness, injury, or medical appointments. Upon appointment to classified service, employees are credited with a bank of forty-eight (48) hours of sick leave that may be used during the first six (6) months of service. Depending on your position and bargaining unit, your initial sick leave credits may vary. Your eligibility to accrue sick leave and the rate at which you accrue on a bi-weekly basis is based on your position and bargaining unit. Employees off payroll for 20 hours or more will not accrue sick leave for that pay period.
Personal Leave

- Non-management employees are eligible to earn ten (10) hours of personal leave per quarter. For more information please see the Personal Leave Incentive Page.
