Temporary Employment
Occasionally we need to hire workers on a temporary basis. It could be to fill in for another employee on leave or to fill in a role that is currently vacant until a permanent hire is found. It also can be used to have two people in the same position for a limited amount of time to ensure continuity and proper training for the transition of the role of the new employee.
While paid internships are treated the same as a temporary employee, the internship is more geared toward experiential learning for a student working on a specific project and aligned to their college major.
It should be noted that utilizing a temporary employee from an employment service is an entirely separate process than hiring an internal temporary employee. To learn about sourcing a temporary candidate through an outside agency, click here.
